Traffic Alert: Mother's Day Run to Cause Delays Sunday

Thousands of runners will be hitting the streets of Kirkland on Sunday, May 8, so the city is giving drivers a heads-up: expects traffic delays in Juanita that morning and complete closures of part of Juanita Drive and nearby streets.

The Kirkland Half Marathon and Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk might draw 3,000 people. Juanita Drive NE from 93^rd Ave NE to 98^th Ave NE and 97^th Ave NE from Juanita Drive NE to NE 119^th Way will be closed from 6:00 a.m. until approximately noon.

The event includes a Kids Dash, 5K run/walk and Half Marathon run/walk. For event information, go to www.promotionevents.com/Kirkland.
