Pedestrian Dies From Injuries In Kirkland Crash

KIRKLAND, WA — Kirkland detectives are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in the Kingsgate area Monday.

In a news release shared Monday afternoon, the Kirkland Police Department said a resident living on 119th Place Northeast was backing out of their driveway when they hit a woman walking on the sidewalk. First responders attempted life-saving procedures at the scene, but medics declared the victim dead a short time later.

The city's crash investigation team responded to the scene and a full investigation into the crash is underway. Police said no further details were immediately available. The King County Medical Examiner's Office will formally name the victim once her identity is confirmed.
