Please Welcome Jessica McMorrow and khyamsartist, Our Newest Bloggers

This week Kirkland Patch welcomes a trio of new bloggers to its Local Voices section.

Jessica McMorrow's first post, Health Benefits of Ballroom Dancing, discusses the pysical and mental benefits of dance.

"Ballroom group classes are a great way to meet other people," she wrote, adding that the outings can boost your confidence and sense of well being.

khyamsartist also joined her neighbors on Patch with her first blog, What it’s like to be a parent of a kid who doesn’t bring home report cards.

"From the Apgar score on, kids in our society are measured, compared, percentiled, assessed, and sorted so much that we parents seem to have become addicted to a constant stream of data," she wrote. "When my family decided to stop getting that information, to change to a school that didn’t test, the decision was easy, but living with it later wasn’t so simple."

Still, khyamsartist wrote, "A report card wouldn’t tell me half as much as he does."
