Potala Village Developer Submits Permit Application

While awaiting an appeals court ruling on the proposed Potala Village development, Dargey Enterprises has submitted a permit application to the city of Kirkland.

The developer of the proposedย Potala Villageย submitted a building permit applicationย to the city of Kirkland.

The permit application isย for "Aqua Mixed Use," and includesย 97 residential units and 7,985 square feet of commercial spaceย (Permit No. BSF13-03290). The city said the application hasย not yet been determined to be complete for processing of the permit.

The original project was envisioned asย 6,200 square feet of ground floor commercial spaceย and 143 residential units above, with underground parking.

The proposed development has been a source of contention in the city, with public outcry over the projectย spurring a building moratorium. Last week, the city appealed a Superior Court decision that paved the way forย the project to move forward.
