Public Hearing on State Pot Rules Set for Aug. 6 in Seattle

The Washington State Liquor Control Board approved 42 pages of rules for marijuana legalization last week.

A public hearing will be held Aug. 6 at Seattle Centerย to give community members an opportunity to weigh in onย proposed rules for marijuana legalization in Washington state.

The meeting runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will be held in theOlympic Roomย at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St.

Last week, the Washington State Liquor Control board approved42 pages of rulesย concerning marijuana production, processing and distribution. The plan isย set to be adopted on Aug. 14 and go into effect on Sept. 16, the same day the state would begin accepting license applications for the newly legalย industry.

The Seattle meeting is one of five that will be held around the state early next month. Here are the other dates and locations:
