Recycle Electronics, Clothes And Fabric In Kirkland On Saturday

KIRKLAND, WA — Kirkland neighbors have a chance Saturday to offload old household electronics, appliances, clothes and more during a free recycling event at the Northshore Church parking lot. The weekend's "Think Green" recycling event is hosted by the city of Kirkland and Waste Management, and organizers will accept a long list of items. The event is also equipped to shred confidential papers, up to four boxes per vehicle.

Here are a few things to bring:

Household electronics:

• Computers and peripherals (e.g. mice, keyboard, etc)
• Printers and toner cartridges
• DVD and VCR players, receivers, amplifiers
• TVs - LCD, plasma, CRT, LED - all types of flat screen TVs
• Appliances, microwaves, toasters
• Electronic cables, cords and wires
• Cell phones and accessories
• Speakers, stereo equipment, radios, microphones, CD players
• Fax machines, copiers, scanners
• Modems, cable boxes
• Networking equipment, servers
• AC units
• Video game systems and accessories
• Cameras, camcorders and accessories

Organizers said all electronics will be recycled or refurbished by Friendly Earth, and textiles will go to Goodwill's "threadcycle" program.
