Shots Fired Reports False, Says Lake Washington School District
District officials said online rumors of gunfire at a Lake Washington school Monday morning were unfounded.
KIRKLAND, WA โ Despite rumors circulating on social media Monday morning, no shots were fired at any school inside the Lake Washington School District, according to officials. The district posted a brief notice on Twitter shortly before 10 a.m. clarifying that no shooting occurred and that all students and staff were safe and accounted for.

In an e-mail to Patch, Lake Washington School District said the social media rumors made vague references to shots fired at "Lake Washington school," and officials worked with law enforcement to ensure they were unfounded across the district.
"We have worked with Kirkland Police to investigate these claims and can confirm that they are false," said Shannon Parthemer, a district spokesperson. "All students and staff are safe."

Lake Washington School District is the state's largest, and one of its fastest-growing, with more than 31,000 students across its 56 schools in Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish.
