Traffic Change Begins Tuesday Near Juanita Elementary
The city will activate an emergency traffic signal outside the new Fire Station 24 to improve safety near Juanita Elementary School.

KIRKLAND, WA โ Drivers who frequent the North Juanita area should expect things to look a little different along Northeast 132nd Street this week, as a new emergency signal is activated outside the soon-to-open Fire Station 24.
The city expects the new station will be operational in just a few weeks, and the new signal will help make things safer for drivers, pedestrians and firefighters when engines need to quickly respond to emergency calls or return to the station. The signal is located just north of Juanita Elementary School.
While crews finish activating the signal Tuesday, officials encourage drivers to be cautious in the area and pay attention to traffic management.

Construction work on the new, 12,000 square-foot fire station began last May and is scheduled to wrap up shortly. The station includes three vehicle bays and was designed to be earthquake-safe and more energy-efficient, officials said.
