WSDOT: More Trees to Be Removed Along I-405 in Kirkland Starting Monday

The tree removal is part of the on-going work to widen Interstate 405 and add express toll lanes and will be on the west side of the freeway in spots between NE 60th and NE 70th Place.

Trees will be removed in two areas of Kirkland along the west side of Interstate 405 as early as Monday, April 22, as part of the on-going work to widen and add express toll lanes to the busy freeway.

An alert issued by the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said the work will last two to three weeks, will be mostly during the day and that efforts will be made to minimize noise.

Crews removed trees along the freeway to the north in Kirkland as part of the project last month.

The two new areas where trees will be taken out are between NE 36th Place and NE 70th Place and between NE 36th Place and NE 60th Street (see maps on the attached PDF file).
