Youth Eastside Services to Offer Parenting Classes in Kirkland
The classes will use a positive discipline approach to help parents build strong relationships with their children.

will launch its first series of parenting classes in February at Kirklandโs Evergreen Hospital, to help parents build positive relationships with their kids.
The classes are based on the positive discipline approach recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and will be taught by Jennifer Watanabe, a certified parent coach .
Each class is targeted to parents of children within specific age groups and provides practical ways to defuse power struggles, practice mutual respect, use encouragement and other key strategies.
"The community told us they wanted more parent information and we have responded," said Patti Skelton-McGougan, YES executive director. โWe are pleased to launch this valuable series and we will be looking for additional parent input on other classes for the future."
Schools and community groups can also contact Watanabe to request presentations at their school, church or group meetings. For more information register, visit YouthEastsideServices.org and click on Parent Classes under Classes and Events tab, or call (425) 747-4937.
