1 Dead In Overnight Parkland Shooting, Reward Offered For Suspect

Deputies are hoping the public can help them identify the suspect in a deadly shooting early Tuesday morning.

PARKLAND, WA — One man was killed in a shooting early Tuesday morning in the Parkland area, now deputies are looking for his killer.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, just after 2 a.m. their dispatchers received several 911 calls from witnesses who had heard several shots fired at the Autumnwood North Apartments on 8th Avenue East.

When the first deputies arrived, they found the body of a man lying in the base of the apartment's stairwell, shot to death with multiple gunshot wounds. The man's body has been passed to the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office who will try and determine his identity.

Meanwhile, witnesses told investigators they had seen a suspicious man running from the apartments toward 112th street shortly after the shooting. Deputies identified the man as a suspect, but so far have been unable to track him down.

Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound are offering a reward of up to $1,000 that might lead to an arrest in this case. Anyone who knows anything about the deadly shooting can report it by calling 1-800-222-TIPS. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
