JBLM Announces Mortar Training Tuesday & Thursday

Get your earplugs ready: JBLM says they'll be starting mortar training just after midnight.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Joint Base Lewis McChord has announced that they will be resuming mortar and artillery training for two days this week — and are warning everyone that means there's likely to be some extra noise even fairly late into the evenings.

According to JBLM, the training will run from 12:01 a.m. Tuesday through 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

During artillery training, JBLM Army units fire live munitions into a designated "artillery impact area" on JBLM's main campus.
