Lakewood Farmers Market Draws Crowds, Vendors To City's Heart

Nancy Wigley says there was one item flying off her makeshift shelves today.

The Centralia woman and owner of Country Classics Farm was one of the vendors at the , which opened today outside Lakewood City Hall.

"The kohl rabi," she answered when asked her hottest selling item. The kohl rabi is a cabbage-like vegetable that goes great with stir-fry dishes.

Vendors and customers got a chance to share and purchase goods today, the market's first official day.
