Lakewood Standoff With Barricaded Suspects Ends In Arrest: Police
The Special Response Team had to use explosives to breach an apartment in Lakewood's Woodbrook neighborhood Monday morning.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Two people have been arrested after a standoff with police that lasted around seven hours and forced several neighbors to evacuate their homes.
According to Lakewood police, the incident centered around an apartment complex at 7500 146th St SW in Lakewood's Woodbrook neighborhood.
Officers say at 3 a.m. a suspect wanted for a Snohomish County homicide entered an apartment in that complex. He came with a friend, who police say was also wanted on an unrelated DOC felony warrant. When officers made contact with the two inside the apartment, they wouldn't come out and barricaded themselves inside the building.
