POLL: How Will Rodney King Be Remembered?
The man whose caught-on-tape police beating sparked the 1992 L.A. riots died Sunday. We ask you, Patch users, how will he be remembered.

As you probably have heard, the man whose 1992 beating at the hands of Los Angeles police officers sparked city and nationwide riots died Sunday.
Authorities are still investigating exactly how Rodney King ended up at the bottom of a pool.
What is clear is that his name is still infamous with race relations, good and bad. He served as a flashpoint for the riots 20 years ago, when African-Americans across Los Angeles and the country saw his caught-on-tape beating by police as a sign of unfettered racial discrimination. Others argued that was the only route the officers could take, given that King was drunk and did not want to surrender.

Whatever the argument, it was clear that King didn't intentionally want to serve as the flashpoint for racial tensions, famously pleading in front of cameras, "Can't we all just get along?"
So we ask you, Patch users, how will you remember Rodney King? Take our poll and tell us in the comments below.
