Third Annual Fallen Officers Food Drive Begins Thursday
The annual drive to benefit the Emergency Food Network runs through Dec. 7.
Lakewood Police will hold its third-annual Fallen Officers Food Drive beginning Thursday, but the need to help struggling families is just as high as the first year.
The food drive, which runs to Dec. 7, benefits the Emergency Food Network.
Residents can donate non-perishable food items at the Lakewood Police Station, 9401 Lakewood Dr. SW.

The Lakewood Police Department will be kicking off the 3rd Annual Fallen Officers Food Drive on November 29th, 2012. An opening ceremony will be held at the Lakewood Police Station located at 9401 Lakewood Drive Southwest.Â
Lakewood City Mayor Doug Richardson will open the event at 8:00 AM and will be joined by Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist, Governor-Elect Jay Inslee, and First Gentleman Mike Gregoire. Chief Farrar will have closing remarks.
The food drive will begin at the Lakewood Police Station following the ceremony. Volunteers, JBLM soldiers and police employees will be on hand to accept food or cash donations. The Seattle Police Pipe and Drum band will also be performing at the event.
