Two Arrested In Baseball Bat Beating In Spanaway
Pierce County Sheriff's Department said the victim appeared to have broken bones and was in a great deal of pain.
SPANAWAY, WA — Two men were jailed after a Tuesday morning attack in Spanaway on a victim authorities said was beaten with baseball bats.
In a Facebook post, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said a man was found lying on the ground in the parking lot of Godfather's Pizza in the 15700 block of Pacific Avenue. He "appeared to have broken bones and was in a great deal of pain," the department said.
Authorities said the victim knew his two attackers, and that they hit him multiple times with metal bats before fleeing the area in a Chevrolet Astro van.

A metal bat was found on the ground some 30-feet from the victim.
Deputies patrolled the area and spotted the Astro van. When they pulled over the van, the two beating suspects were inside along with a baseball bat between the driver's and passenger's seats.

A 57-year-old man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail for Assault in the 1st degree. Another man, 46, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before being booked into the jail. He also faces an Assault in the 1st Degree charge.
