Art Opening at Aljoya: "Paul Horiuchi's Watercolors"

will host an art opening reception in honor of Northwest artist Paul Horiuchi this Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., showing his watercolor paintings through May 15.

The exhibition of watercolors by Horiuchi offers a rare opportunity to view a private collection of these impressive watercolors. The artist is renowned for the Zen-like quality of his collage paintings and abstract expressionist command of flat space.

“I believe that the art of painting, and the painting itself, should convey a feeling of serene satisfaction and inner harmony," Horiuchi once said. He passed away in 1999.
