Happy Birthday!
Local Albertsons cashier Andy Maloof turns 60, and some semi-anonymous "friends" announce it to Mercer Island.
Sometimes you get news you just want to shout from the rooftops.
Cashier Andy Maloof's ex-wife Lesile and daughter Sam decided to let the town know he's turning 60 years old today. So they took several pieces of neon-yellow poster board and bound them together with a "Happy Birthday" message, hanging them on the "Growing Up" statue by Steven Beyer in front of .
The sign reads: "One of a kind, just like Van Gogh, Andy Maloof's hit the big 6-0! Love, Sam and Les."

Maloof said he's got the day off and has dinner plans with Leslie and Sam.
"I'm very lucky to have such a nice family," said Maloof. "I'm a very lucky guy."

"You know, I just went to watch 'Pirates of the Caribbean', because, you know, I hear the , so I didn't want to miss that."
