Mercer Island Little League Holds Opening Day Festivities; U-11 Select Baseball Team Wins Weekend Tournament

Mercer Island Little League will hold Opening Day festivities at South Mercer Play Fields at 11 a.m. today.

In related youth baseball news, the Mercer Island Select U-11 Thunder team went undefeated and captured first place in the USSSA Summer Celebration baseball tournament in Lacey, WA last weekend. 

The team outscored their competition 24-5 in the three games, beating the Pierce County Diamond Jaxx, 5-3, in the championship game.
