Stopsky's Makes Over Passover Seder in March 'Bon Appetit'

Three recipes by Austin Zimmerman of Stopsky's, a Mercer Island delicatessen, are featured in the March 2013 edition of Bon Appetit magazine.

Readers nationwide will get a taste of Mercer Island's Stopsky's Delicatessen, as the March edition of Bon Appetit features three recipes that update the Passover seder.

According to Stopsky's newsletter, Zimmerman spiced up the typical Ashkenazic beef braise with New Mexico chilies, pan-fried the cod and smoked whitefish gefilte fish and freshened up the traditional macaroons with lime zest.

The article has several pictures of the finished dishes, and prep instructions on how to plan the menu.

However, Mercer Islanders have an option other than preparing the meal at home -- according to Stopsky's newsletter, the items will be featured on a special fixed price menu for the week of Passover, which is March 25 to April 2. All menu items, regular and special, will be available for serving at home as well, according to the deli.
