Each week, I'll pick two or three of the most interesting story or Facebook comments, questions, or Twitter tweets sent to Mercer Island Patch.

I was in the court room too.

I can say Judge Robart was really POed when he reprimended the MIR for reporting a statement that he did not make (i.e., In the MIR of 6/15/11: "United States District Court Judge James Robart has ordered the parties not to discuss ongoing communications about the case, said City Attorney Katie Knight").

And this wasn't the first time Judge Robart reprimended the MIR and City Attorney Katie Knight. In Mar 2011 the MIR had published some court transcriptions (PDFs) that had not been released by the court reporters (who depend on a fee system). This incident occurred while we were attending the 3/28/11 hearing in the Londi case. Just as the judge was leaving he turned to the courtroom and said, "I want to know who gave a copy of the transcription of the previous hearing [i.e., the week before] that is on the Internet." He then explained how court reporters are paid by the sale of their transcriptions (i.e., transcripts have 90 days before they are made public unless paid for). At this point City Attorney Katie Knight whispered something to the City's attorneys and then the lead attorney said to the judge, "The city says that they provided a copy to the Mercer Island Reporter."

So the current story is the second proof that Katie Knight has been feeding info to Mary Grady all along trying to make Londi look bad.

Whoa! There it is! The City's and the MIR's long-suspected conspiracy is now on the record in a Federal Court!!

What a brilliant move for the Democrats. It would render all Republican votes on the Island completely meaningless.
