Cut the politics on FB, it is totally the wrong place. Because she Hague has used this, I definitely won't vote for her or anybody else who invades this space...

You can always relate to the person, not to the description of her behaviors, so you would definitely have to answer something related to the person, like in the case of your story, you could have answered to the father: "It was really nice meeting her" with a smile, showing that you noticed her more, than anything else.
I believe that we, parents of children with autism, or even parents of different children, often feel like we need to say something that would account for what we felt like was an awkward social situation (we would normally not intrude someone else's privacy in a public place, but our children might have done it, and they would not acknowledge or apologize for having done so).

And your essay tells us that we add to the awkardness, rather than alleviate it. Remember that what people say is often more to address their own concerns, than the concerns of the persons they are telling about something!
I hope this answers your very legitimate question.

I for one am sorry I had already voted early. Shame on Jane Hague. Let the people decide and let Metro dig deep find ways to cut. It is easy just to threaten to cut bus service to communities outside the center of Seattle.

Do you think the Soup Group understands that their guy (President Obama) is responsible for US Economic Policy?
