Man Barricades Himself In Ex-Girlfriend's Puyallup Apartment: PD
The situation unfolded at the Glenbrooke Apartments in Puyallup.

PUYALLUP, WA — A Kent man is facing charges after police say he barricaded himself inside his ex-girlfriend's apartment early Friday morning.
According to police, the 41-year-old man showed up at his ex-girlfriend's apartment in Puyallup two days ago and began to stay at the apartment. Police say they spoke to the woman's brother at the scene who said his sister left the apartment out of fear.
The brother went to the apartment Friday morning to try to talk the man, who authorities described as an estranged boyfriend, into leaving but he refused and pointed a handgun at the brother, police said. The brother then called police and the man went inside the apartment and locked the door, according to police.

When police arrived at the scene around 5:45 a.m., the man allegedly refused to acknowledge officers and the situation turned into a standoff. A SWAT team arrive on the scene shortly thereafter and the boyfriend surrendered peacefully, police say.
Police say there was a protection order in place between the man and his ex-girlfriend. The man is also a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. The man is charged with felony violation of a protection order and more charges may be forthcoming.
