Body Of Missing Pregnant Woman Found, Ex-Boyfriend Arrested
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says they believe they've found the body of Kassanndra Cantrell, a missing Parkland woman.

PUYALLUP, WA — Almost a month after she first went missing, Deputies say they've found the body of Kassanndra Cantrell, a pregnant Parkland woman who vanished in late August. Now law enforcement officers have arrested her ex-boyfriend for her murder.
33-year-old Cantrell was last seen on August 25, when she left her family's home to go grocery shopping. Two days later after no word from her, her family reported her missing. Just a day after that, her white Mazda 3 was found abandoned by the Tacoma Dome. Cantrell was nowhere to be found.
Cantrell's ex-boyfriend had long been a suspect in her disappearance. Deputies say that by checking surveillance footage taken near the Tacoma Dome, they found images of a man walking from Cantrell's abandoned vehicle to a nearby parking garage. He left the garage in a truck, and by checking the truck's license, deputies found the man was Cantrell's ex-boyfriend.

On September 1, the SWAT team and Pierce County Sheriff's Deputies used a search warrant to enter the ex-boyfriend's Tacoma home. There they found his truck and took it into custody for their investigation, but little else to lead them to Cantrell.

After nearly a month of searching, deputies scoured the truck's GPS and found it had made an unusual stop along Chambers Creek Road W. in University Place sometime after Cantrell's disappearance. They began searching the area Tuesday morning, and around 2 p.m. found a set of human remains wrapped and hidden on a steep hillside along the road. Deputies believe they are Cantrell's remains, but have sent them to the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office for further confirmation.
