Puyallup Band to Sound Off at Northwest Battle of the Bands
SHEBEAR, a Puyallup-based band, will be competing against three other Northwest bands at the annual Sound Off! Competition on Saturday.
A Puyallup-based band will be battling it out at the annual EMP Museum’s Sound Off! competition this Saturday in Seattle.
The band, SHEBEAR, is made up of four male musicians from Puyallup and produces sonic dream pop tunes through echo-laden synth, ethereal guitar and dynamic percussion, according to the EMP Museum’s website.
The event, in its 12th year, kicked off in February with 12 local bands competing in the semifinals.

The bands are judged based on composition and arraingment, originality, musicianship and audience satisfaction. Participants must be 21 or under and live in the Pacific Northwest.
On Saturday, March 2, the SHEBEARS and two finalists, plus a wild card band, will take the stage at EMP Museum’s Sky Church in Seattle at 7 p.m.

The grand prize includes a performance slot at Bumbershoot 2013 and a live on-air radio performance. All four bands also win gear, studio time and one-on-one consultations with music industry professionals, according to the EMP Museum press release.
