Spanaway Son Arrested, Accused Of Stabbing Father In Argument

Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday a man drove himself to a medical center after being stabbed. A few hours later and his son was behind bars.

PUYALLUP, WA — One man is injured and his son has been arrested after what deputies describe as a domestic violence stabbing in Spanaway late Tuesday.

Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, a man suffering several stab wounds drove himself to the Multicare Good Samaritan Emergency Medical Center in Parkland. Multicare workers alerted the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. They say when their deputies interviewed the man, he told them he had been in an argument with his son, which had ended with his son stabbing him.

After the interview, the 48-year-old man was transferred to a nearby trauma hospital due to the severity of his wounds. He remains in serious condition.

Meanwhile, deputies headed to the victim's home in the 19800 block of Mountain Hwy E.

Deputies reached the home at around 8:11 p.m. Once there, they say they contacted the victim's son and he surrendered peacefully.

The suspect, only identified as a 26-year-old man, has been booked in to the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of felony assault charges.
