Strickland Vs Doglio: WA 10th House District Election Results
Marilyn Strickland and Beth Doglio are facing off to determine who will replace Denny Heck to represent Washington.

WASHINGTON β The polls have closed and voters in Washington's 10th district have cast their ballots to choose which candidate will replace Rep. Denny Heck in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C.
All 10 of Washington's seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for re-election, including the one being vacated by Heck, who is instead running for Lt. Governor. Cyrus Habib, the current Lt. Governor, did not seek re-election and has left office to join the Jesuit order.
Heck has been the representative for Washington's 10th congressional district since the district was created back in 2013, but when he announced he would instead run for Lt. Governor, it created a vacuum that over a dozen candidates rushed to fill.

19 candidates threw their hat in the ring to replace Heck, but the August primary culled the field to just two: Marilyn Strickland and Beth Doglioβ both democrats with a history of serving Washington through political positions.

Strickland was the mayor of Tacoma from 2010 to 2018 and the front-runner of the primary, bringing in more than 21 percent of the August vote. However, a comeback by Doglio is not impossible: Doglio has served as a state representative from the 22nd legislative district and garnered just under 15 percent of the primary vote, and has since earned the endorsement of high-profile progressives like Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
