90-Year-Old Redmond Driver Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Collision

The car came to rest just a few inches from a home in a rocky embankment Monday afternoon.

Speed is believed to be a factor in a single-vehicle collision that sent a 90-year-old Redmond woman to the hospital with serious injuries on Monday afternoon.

According to a news release from the , the woman was driving a 1994 Honda Accord southbound on 160th Avenue Northeast at about 3:25 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a turn on to Northeast 55th Way. The vehicle ran into a rocky embankment and flipped before landing inches away from a home.

The driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious internal and ankle injuries. Redmond Police are not releasing her name at this time.

The incident remains under investigation with RPD's traffic unit.
