Redmond Rotary Honors March Students of the Month

Rotary Club of Redmond recently named two students Student of the Month for March.

Talley Baxter Robbins was honored as Senior Student of the Month, while Kara Chambers received the Junior Student of the Month award for March. Club President Steve Bozick made the presentations to the two students.

The rotary selection committee noted that Kara plans to attend a liberal arts university and major in social work with an international focus. She has volunteered as a camp leader in both Mexico and Russia with her church, as well as serving as an advocate and activist for Invisible Children for the past five years.

She received both the community service award and the student of the year award in junior high school and has been recognized by the 'Redmond Hero' award in high school. She has been active in music and sports and has maintained membership in the national honors society for four years.

Senior Talley Baxter Robbins has challenged himself academically with a full slate of AP courses at Redmond High and also volunteers as a patient family liaison at Harborview Medical Center for ICU patients. He is planning to earn a BS in Nursing with and RN license and work as a nurse prior to returning for a doctorate in a medical field.
