“I was honored to be nominated and selected and look forward to continue working to make long-term corrections to our state’s basic-education system,” Hill said. “Gathering with this group of people from a variety of different backgrounds and perspectives is a tremendous way to continue moving forward with the measures and recommendations necessary to improve Washington’s education system and, most importantly, the outcomes. I’m pleased to serve with this bipartisan group of legislators and education officials to review the efforts underway and foster new ideas and implementation strategies.”
Hill serves on the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee, Joint Select Committee on Education Accountability and is the minority leader of the Senate Higher Education Committee. He previously served as president of his local Parent-Teacher-Student Association and has spent considerable time working in the classroom tutoring and mentoring students.
