Together Center Receives $35,420 Grant to Renovate Buildings

has received a grant of $35,420 from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound to support renovation of recently-vacated space for use by nonprofit direct service agencies. Earlier, two $5,000 grants were received from and Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation to support this effort, while to support renovations at the center’s front door to increase access to services.

Construction is underway on the three-building, 35,000 square foot center to create two new suites: A-9 and A-10. The latter 2,500 square foot space will become the new home for Habitat for Humanity of East King County, which will move from its current Together Center location in B-5. 

The other newly-constructed space, a four-office suite of 950-square feet, is available for lease. An additional area to be renovated is in a feasibility study phase.

Construction for these two suites will be completed by March 1.

“It’s a very difficult financial environment for garnering grants for capital needs,” Together Center Executive Director Pam Mauk said. “We are tremendously grateful for the support we’ve received.”

One of the first multi-tenant nonprofit centers in the nation, Together Center creates access to human services so people can find help when they need it. Tens of thousands of people from throughout East King County receive help each year from 18 essential agencies and other critical resources at the one-stop campus. Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound is an employee-owned nonprofit charitable foundation. The Board of Trustees consists of eight Boeing employees who serve a two-year term and are elected by Boeing employees who contribute to ECF. Administrative costs are paid by The Boeing Company, so 100 percent of employee donations go to help people in need. The Fund has contributed more than $500 million to local health and human service nonprofits since its inception in 1951.
