City Hosts Special Centennial Tour of Old Redmond Cemetery

Local historian Tom Hitzroth will lead a guided tour of Redmond's original cemetery on July 15.

The City of Redmond will host a at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 15.

Local historian Tom Hitzroth, who also leads the , will serve as guide for the cemetery tour and provide information about provide information about Redmond's history and epidemics that affected the community's population many years ago.

The Old Redmond Cemetery is Redmond's original cemetery and serves as the final resting place for many of the city's first settlers and founding families.

The cemetery is located within Cedar Lawns Memorial Park at 7000 180th Ave. NE (historic area is on west side of cemetery). The tour will start at the flagpole inside the cemetery.

Parking will be available at the Bear Creek Park and Ride, 7760 178th Place NE, and attendees are asked not to park at the cemetery because space is limited.
