Former Redmond Fire Chief to Head Public Works During Reorganization

Tim Fuller, former Redmond fire chief, is serving as interim Public Works director while the city reorganizes that department and the Planning Department, the city said in a statement.

Fuller steps into the vacancy created by the . Fuller previously acted as interim police chief in Redmond and was instrumental in guiding the department as it transitioned from the administration of former chief Steve Harris to current chief Ron Gibson, the city said in a news release last week. 

“Tim Fuller brings proven leadership and an ability to guide organizational change that will be vital as we move through the recruitment process,” Mayor John Marchione said in the release. “He will work closely with current Public Works managers to identify and foster continued improvements in service delivery and customer satisfaction. We’re very pleased to welcome him back to Redmond.”

The city also announced a reorganization that will move the transportation planning and development review division from the Public Works Department to the Planning Department. Marchione said the change will help streamline the city's development review process.

"By combining the efforts of our Public Works and Planning transportation staff, we will better align our resources with our city’s long-term land use vision," he said. "In addition, citizens will benefit from a true ‘one-stop-shop’ when it comes to development review and permitting. This allows for faster response times throughout a project, from initial application to final inspection.”
