Emergency Preparedness: Redmond Launches Neighborhood Conversations

The City of Redmond will launch its 2013 Neighborhood Network series on Wednesday, March 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers featuring a brief workshop and community conversation on emergency preparedness.

Representatives from the City’s Redmond Ready program will be on hand to provide tools and training to help you, your family and neighborhood be better prepared in the event of an emergency. This event is open to residents and businesses within the City’s Downtown, Bear Creek and Southeast Redmond Neighborhoods. 

Additional programs will be offered for residents of Education Hill, North Redmond and Sammamish Valley neighborhoods on Wednesday, April 17 at Horace Mann Elementary School, and residents of the Grass Lawn, Idylwood, Overlake and Willows/Rose Hill neighborhoods on Wednesday, May 15 at Audubon Elementary. All meetings are scheduled from 6-7:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Redmond’s Neighborhood Network provides the community, City officials and staff opportunities to check-in on an annual basis. Participants are encouraged to discuss issues, policies and projects related to their neighborhoods. “Redmond’s Neighborhood Network series is designed to facilitate effective, two-way connections between the City and our unique neighborhoods” states Mayor John Marchione. “These upcoming events will let us roll up our sleeves and analyze our individual – as well as our neighborhood‘s – emergency preparedness both now and in the future. I encourage everyone to participate.”
