Redmond Seeks Input on Transportation Projects

The City of Redmond invites the community to “Redmond Transportation 2030”, a first look at the draft list of future transportation projects and programs coming from the year-long public process to update the City’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The meeting is on November 17 from 6 to 8 pm at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85 Street. Participants will have the opportunity to review and comment on the draft plan as well as on other Redmond TMP update results.

The TMP update process began in November 2010 and concludes in early 2012 with a final plan establishing how the major modes of transportation—bicycling, walking, transit, and driving—will work together in coming years to provide safe and sustainable mobility. The meeting on November 17 is the third and final community event, and a culmination of a year’s collaboration between City staff and members of the public.

“We encourage everyone who cares about how they get around in Redmond to come and share their thoughts,” said Don Cairns, Transportation Services Manager for the City of Redmond. “Tell us, does this plan meet our goal of providing, safe, reliable, and environmentally sound travel? Have we missed anything? What could we be doing better?”

Reservations for the meeting are encouraged, but not required, and should be sent to Patrick McGrath at pmcgrath@redmond.gov or by calling 425-556-2870.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting can send their opinions and comments to Lei Wu, Project Manager for the TMP update, at lwu@redmond.gov.

More information about the Transportation Master Plan can be found on the City’s website at www.redmond.gov/TMP or follow the progress on Facebook at www.facebook.com/redmondtmp.
