Redmond Offering 'Watershed Ecology Adult Field Trip'

REDMOND, WA —The city of Redmond and the Cascade Water Alliance is sponsoring a free "Watershed Ecology Adult Field Trip" later this month where attendees will learn about local ecology, plants and wildlife.

The outdoor event takes place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 30 at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 NE Redmond Rd.

The class is limited to 30 participants and is for residents of Redmond who are 18 or older. Registration is available online.

Event organizers said the class will be taught by a professional educator from Nature Vision, a Woodinville-based nonprofit that brings place-based experiential nature programming to schools and local greenspaces.

"Nature Vision fosters appreciation and stewardship of our environment by educating and connecting the community to the world around us," the organization said on its website. "We envision an inspired and connected culture where everyone makes choices for a sustainable future.

According to organizers, those participating in the field trip will get to view aquatic insects from Bear Creek, test water samples, discuss water as a shared resource and learn ways that we can all keep our water abundant and healthy.
