Temperatures are forecast to be their coldest in years around the Eastside next week, and city leaders are preparing for several hazards.

REDMOND, WA — Redmond city officials have shared a list of reminders and resources to help neighbors prepare for a rare dose of snow over the long holiday weekend, followed by a prolonged stretch of dangerously cold conditions.
According to the latest forecasts, most of the lowlands could pick up 1 to 4 inches of snow between Christmas night and Sunday evening.

Things will take an even colder turn after the holiday, with unusually frigid temperatures on tap heading into the new year. By Monday, afternoon highs could fall to the high 20s, with overnight lows potentially dipping into the teens. There's a small chance lows could even hit single digits.
