Utility Investigations In Redmond, Bellevue May Delay Travel

Expect short roadway and trail delays during utility investigations starting as early as Monday, April 24.

From King County: Starting as early as April 24, King County crews will conduct utility investigations along the sewer route for the Lake Hills and NW Lake Sammamish Sewer Upgrade Project. The work will take up to two weeks to complete.

Utility investigations are needed to confirm the locations of buried water lines, local sewer lines, and storm drains along the sewer route as King County continues to develop the project design. Investigations will occur along:

  • The Sammamish River Trail
  • West Lake Sammamish Parkway
  • 177th Ave NE
  • 180th Ave NE
  • NE 21st St
Crews will use a vacuum truck to confirm utility locations

Crews will work from north to south (see map for additional detail). At each location, crews will dig a hole in the ground, called a pothole, approximately one foot in diameter. Crews will use a vacuum truck to remove the soil and safely expose the utility. Expect increased noise while the vacuum truck is in use. After each pothole is completed, crews will fill the hole and restore the pavement or ground surface.
