- When/where: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Redmond Senior Center
- Why go: Thinking about adding a new furry friend to the family? Or just interested in checking out the latest pet products? Stop by the Redmond Senior Center this Saturday for a pet-themed event featuring vendors, obedience and agility demonstrations, flyball races and more. Several animal shelters will also have pets available for adoption.
- Pricing: Admission is free. Well-mannered, house-trained pets on a six-foot or shorter leash are welcome.

- Where/when: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at Malt and Vine in Redmond
- Why go: Raise a glass to Seattle Beer Week and the start of the weekend at Redmond's Malt and Vine this Friday evening. The kickoff party will feature special brews from California's Firestone Brewing Company. Visit the Malt & Vine's Facebook page for more information about beer week events taking place at the shop.

- Why go: Kids will have the chance to meet four canine reading pals this Saturday at McDonald's Book Exchange in Redmond. Each child will also be able to select a free storybook to take home.

- When/where: 7 to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 13, at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland
