While investigators have not formally said what brought the tree down, a frontal system moving through the region brought periods of heavy rain and high winds to King County on Sunday afternoon, downing trees around Puget Sound and briefly knocking out power for more than 100,000 people. A high wind advisory was in effect for the East Puget Sound lowlands until 6 p.m.
