228th Avenue NE Project Will Interrupt Traffic Signal Tuesday

The ongoing improvement project will require moving the signal box Tuesday, and drivers will be manually directed through the intersection.

SAMMAMISH, WA β€” Sammamish drivers whose Tuesday plans include a trip down 228th Avenue Northeast should plan for a slight interruption as construction work will temporarily bring a traffic signal offline.

Contractors are working to retrofit curb ramps and install other improvements from SE 8th St. to NE 8th St., preparing the stretch of road for a full resurfacing planned next year. Lane closures in the area are typically in place on the weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

On Tuesday, crews will also need to relocate a signal box at the intersection of 228th Ave. NE and NE 4th St. Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., drivers will be directed through the intersection by a uniformed police officer.
