A Dream Realized: Sammamish-area Band, Fit For Hounds, Wins Saturday Round at EMP's Sound Off!

The Sammamish-area band with ties to Skyline High School advances to the finals of the Sound Off! underage music competition. It is on March 5.

The other bands brought all their musical talents to bear on the night of Saturday, Feb. 19Β on a stage at EMP in Seattle - and for good reason.

It was a semifinal round of Sound Off! 2011, the Pacific Northwest's largest underage band competition of its kind. It is a venue to perform, connect and enliven.

In the end, a Sammamish-area band - - had succeeded with its notes, words and tempo to walk away the winners. On March 5, the four-personΒ band will play in the Sound Off! final event.

For the band members - and especially William Conrad Doerrfeld, who is the main person in charge of vocalsΒ - a dream to play at the Seattle event had been achieved.

Then, just before announcing the winner, Harms of 107.7 The End picked up a piece of clothing that Doerrfeld had tossed to the ground when he was singing, moving, dancing and creating music.

Harms said the man who owned that jacket and his band members were the victorious ones of the night. The crowd included about 100 band supporters andΒ erupted into cheers, screams, hoots and hugs.

Not bad for a band with ties to on the Sammamish Plateau. In interviews,Β theΒ bandΒ members said they want the audienceΒ to feel the energyΒ and enjoy the fun that the four friendsΒ have on stage.

In the audience was Lindsay Vigor,Β who received a free ticket from Sammamish Patch and EMP. SheΒ took the bus to see her friend William Conrad perform.

The other bands who performed on Saturday are: Kithkin (formerly Chinook Jargon), Electricity and its Double and Kung Foo Grip.
