Issaquah High School Honors Outstanding Educators

Congratulations to these four fabulous teachers who were selected as Outstanding Educators by the PTSA! Through their efforts, each has fostered a spirit of inclusiveness here atΒ IHS. Here are some of the comments made by parents and students:Β

TIM BAYNES

β€œTim has brought enthusiasm and vitality to the Issaquah High ASB program. He’s introduced many new programs toΒ IHS, involving ALL kids, as his philosophy is everyone is in ASB. He is a great liaison for the PTSA, connecting us with what's happening with the ASB and the teachers. This year, he partnered with the PTSA for the first ever Fashion Show and Auction, which was a huge success.”

BUDDY BLAND

β€œBuddy has played a huge role on a school wide basis, through I-Vision and all the other video work he and his students do on behalf of the school. In addition, he has served as assistant football coach. But that's not all - he was instrumental in the development and implementation of our very successful 5K program, all while working on, and receiving his National Board Certification.”

BILL BISTRITZ

β€œBill has the amazing ability to bring US History to life for our students. He is creative and he uses multiple tools to keep students interested; such as passionate lectures, books, creative writing projects, and multi-media. In addition, Bill is the advisor for JSA and serves as Assistant Track Coach.”

CARRIE BORCHERDING

β€œEven though it's only her first year atΒ IHS, Carrie has made great strides on behalf of the LRC 2 students and is known for going above and beyond what has been generally expected in her role. She has encouraged her students to interact with the student body. She also was our first ever teacher to serve as an Issaquah High PTSA representative at the State PTA Legislative assembly.”

On behalf of the Issaquah High PTSA, we congratulate these four teachers, and thank each andΒ everyteacher here atΒ IHSΒ for all they do for our students. To us, they are ALL Outstanding Educators.
