Volunteer Party for Salmon Days Today, Sept. 12

The community is invited to attend the "Ohfishal" Salmon Days Volunteer Sign-Up Party on Sept. 12 at Issaquah’s Pickering Barn.

β€œWe welcome all community members to share in the β€˜thrills and gills’ of the Festival by serving as an Ohfishal Festival Volunteer,” said Festival Director Robin Kelley. β€œVolunteers can pick from a range of activities and enjoy a delicious (and free) dinner provided by Timber Ridge at Talus and will go home with the coveted 2012 Salmon Days volunteer shirt.”

The party marks the start of the countdown to the Salmon Days Festival, held this year on the weekend of Oct. 6-7. The festival draws over 180,000 attendees who are able to visit the downtown salmon hatchery, shop at local and regional arts and crafts vendors, dine on amazing bites and treats from the Foods of the World food court, and participate in a host of family-friendly activities. The festival also supports more than 70 Issaquah nonprofit, service or charitable organizations and provides an annual estimated economic impact of over $7.5 million to Issaquah.
