Burglars Steal Safe From Sammamish Home

A Sammamish resident is asking neighbors to stay alert after burglars broke into their home and stole a large safe over Thanksgiving.

SAMMAMISH, WA β€” A Sammamish homeowner is warning neighbors to stay vigilant through the holidays after burglars broke into a Trossachs home and stole tens of thousands of dollars in valuables over Thanksgiving weekend.

Sonali Ketkar told Patch that the culprits broke into the house through a window and headed straight for the master bedroom. The thieves were able to remove a large, Winchester brand safe from the home, which Ketkar said would require at least three people to accomplish. The safe housed bags, shoes, and scores of other valuables.

"Basically we have lost everything we ever had of value, amounting to over [$200,000]," Ketkar said. "We would like to share this with the community so that everyone is vigilant, and also if anything knows anything they can share that information with the police."
