Costco Reports 10 Percent Uptick in Net Sales
Costco reported March numbers, and recently was named among the best grocery stores in a consumer survey on Consumer Reports.
(NASDAQ: COST), headquartered in Issaquah, today reported net sales of $9.13 billion for the month of March, the five weeks ended April 1, 2012, an increase of 10 percent from $8.33 billion during the similar period last year, according to a press release by the company.
The release said the for the first thirty-one weeks of its reporting period ended April 1, 2012, Costco reported net sales of $56.34 billion, an increase of 11 percent from $50.79 billion during the similar period last year.
Earlier this week, Consumer Reports reported that Costco and its website were tops with consumers, earning the best overall rating for its merchandise in both its stores and online shopping site among 52 grocery chains.
