Creekside Elementary Honors PTSA Volunteers

Creekside Elementary PTSA announced Golden Acorn Recipients are Christine Chafin and Marquelle Morgan and Kavitha Kumar as an "Outstanding Advocate" for students.

Creekside Elementary School PTSA parents recognized three parents for their contribution to students and the school at a March 19 meeting.

This year's Golden Acorn Recipients are PTSA board members Christine Chafin and Marquelle Morgan, parents who have "gone above and beyond the call of duty," according to the Creekside Elementary Facebook page.

According to the announcement, the parents were honored not only for their dedication to their PTSA board positions as VPs of Fundraising but also for their support of programs like Movie Nights, Halloween Bash, Cookies and Cocoa with Santa, the upcoming Walk-a-Thon and many, many more.Β

Creekside PTSA President Kavitha Kumar was also honored as an "Outstanding Advocate". The honor of Outstanding Advocate, according to the PTSA, is given to someone who advocates for all children, not just at their local school. Kavitha Kumar serves as our PTSA President, while being an active member at Pine Lake Middle School, and a voice mentor.

"She helps to better the entire Issaquah community with her commitment to education," according to the PTSA.
