Crews Could Begin Early Work This Week on SE 32nd St. Traffic Measures - but Full Efforts Will Start July 25

The city of Sammamish expects that the work will be finished by the end of August.

Crews from Westwater Construction Co. couldΒ begin preliminary workΒ on Southeast 32nd StreetΒ as early asΒ Monday, asΒ they prepare for their full traffic calmingΒ efforts on July 25, the city of Sammamish reported.

The Β gave theΒ greenlightΒ toΒ a , including traffic circles, sidewalks and new signs.

Earlier this year, the to the street and area. City leaders said they were doing so to improve street and neighborhood connection.Β But some residents were concerned about pedestrian safety.

On Thursday, the city said that crews are likely to be in the neighborhood startingΒ this weekΒ to place no parking signs in the area and locate utilities. They also might be removing part of the barricade - but only for work purposes, the city reported.

"They will be allowed to remove part of the barricade during construction for their access on both sides, but they will maintain the function of the barricade restricting the general public from using this section of the street until all the improvements are completed," the city said in an email.

The city expects that this work will be finished by the end of August. City of Sammamish crews also will beΒ in the area to grade gravel shoulders and trim plants and bushes.
