East Lake Sammamish Parkway Project Begins Next Month

In just a few weeks, work will begin to improve the roundabout at Southeast 43rd Way. Here's what to expect.

SAMMAMISH, WA β€” Construction work to modify a roundabout on East Lake Sammamish Parkway is on schedule to begin in June, and city officials estimate the project will take roughly two months to complete.

Starting June 13, work will get underway at the Southeast 43rd Way roundabout, with most of it taking place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays. During that time, drivers can expect occasional lane closures and minor traffic delays. Officials expect three full weekend closures will be necessary over the course of the project, with the first expected the weekend of June 24.

The weekend closures will allow crews to finish elements of the project that cannot be completed without blocking the roadway and will happen during the daytime and nighttime hours. During work hours, neighbors should plan for increased engine and machinery noise in the area, along with flashing lights.

The work should wrap up by August, but the city cautioned that national shortages for some components, including radar speed signs, could present slight delays for the timeline.
